Recently my friend Juanjo pointed out how much activity my blog has been having recently. Thinking about it, he is right and there are two reasons why this may be the case:
- I’m more inspired than usual. I’m not sure if this is the case, and even if it is, it’s not helpful for me to communicate it unless I’ve found a way to find inspiration easily.
- I’m writing in parallel. Now this is something to talk about, because it is a technique that can be applied by everyone and I recommend to any blogger.
Instead of doing the usual cycle:
- write post
- polish post
- publish post
- start another post
what I do is just start writing as many posts as I want, even if the previous ones are not finish, and leave them as drafts. This will increase your throughput, that is, how often you post, even though it may take you even longer to write a single post. It’s quite a simple conceptt in which is based the chain production and processors’ pipelines.
It may even increase your quality, if you have 10 posts waiting on the queue, it’ll be easier to drop one that’s really bad because you’ll still have 9, instead of 0.
